Pancakes are great. So is chai spice. Here's them together.

Feel free to halve the spices in this recipe for a less intense flavour, or swap them out for any combination of ingredients as the base for this pancake recipe stands up pretty well with different flavourings!

CHAI PANCAKES

INGREDIENTS (BATTER)

  • 2 cups of rolled oats

  • 1 cup of almond milk

  • 2 teaspoons baking powder

  • 1 super ripe banana

  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon powder

  • 1 teaspoon sugar

  • 1 teaspoon ginger powder

  • 1/2 teaspoon cardamom powder

  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg powder

  • 1/8 teaspoon white pepper

  • 1/8 teaspoon salt

METHOD

  • Run rolled oats through your food processor to make into flour.

  • Mix all ingredients in a large bowl, and ladle out the resulting batter into a hot frypan to make pancakes (flipping when you see bubbles start to appear in the batter).

  • Serve with rice malt syrup and more chai spice mix on top.
